Client:
Colusa County Migrant Center

Completed:

The Migrant Center provides seasonal housing between the months of April and October for migrant farm worker families during the agricultural season. For six months of the year, migrant workers live in the affordable housing provided by the County while they help bring in the harvest in the surrounding fields. Aquality assisted Colusa County with ongoing regulatory, design, and process issues at its Migrant Housing Wastewater Treatment Plant while also continuing to operate and maintain the existing facilities.

Our review of the County’s regulatory issues and O&M challenges led us to conclude the County would be best served by decommissioning the plant and utilizing an existing, untapped connection to the City of Williams. This solution saves the County money and improves process efficiency. To fund improvements to the wastewater system, we assisted the County in preparing and submitting a $1.5 million Community Development Block Grant application.
